if i want to use bondo for earliners and have no fiberglass to add for extra strength what other things could i substitute or will the bondo alone be strong enough?

You can by fiberglass mat in the automotive department at wal-mart. It is near the cans of Bondo. Just cut it up and use it. Good Luck. Don't forget to use a little Resin also.

I'm just going to throw my two cents worth in here. I use earliners as well, and the guy I learned from used straight bondo with earliners. Not surprisingly, they never really looked to good. Too thick, and ocasional drumming, not to mention the clean up if you had a small hole in the ear. Let me suggest that you remove cartilage (which I hope you've been doing with liners), rough up the liners with sand paper. Clean the ear skin as best you can and then dry them real good. Don't use thinner. Then use a thin layer of a good adhesive. There are many that will work well, and you won't have to worry about that "extra strength" you mentioned. Why do you need extra strength if you're using liners? Do you mean you need extra grip for the liner to skin bond? If so, a good adhesive is what you really need anyway. By doing it this way you'll get a thiner ear which looks real, and drumming should not be a problem either. Good Luck.
