Hi Everyone! I have an idea - To start a video exchange among us beginners that are serious about learning a great deal about Taxidermy. My idea would be to just trade instructional videos back and forth with the possibility of dubbing them for personal use if it is legal. Videos should ship for $3.85 through USPS just about anywhere in the lower 48.
It would be great to trade videos and learn more about the mounting of different animals. I could serve as a moderator. You can email me your list of instructional videos you are willing to trade as well as your wishlist. Then if you want another video or get another you would trade, just email me again and I will hook you up with someone that has one or wants that one. The only fees associated would be the shipping costs. If anyone is interested, Please email me. Peace, Sam Bennett

I have for trade:
~Van Dykes-Mounting a Standing Pheasant
~Danny Owens-Mounting a Flying Pheasant
~Danny Owens-skinning and fleshing a Pheasant for mounting
I would like:
Any mammal mounting video
Any deer mounting video
with out the written expessed permission of the owner of the copyright of the video,,,,,i think there is even a FBI warning at the beginning of each video,,,,,you are a braver man than me for putting out such a reckless abandon of the law for all to see,,,,,by the way if the suppliers didnt lose so much money to dub and resale,,,there might be a larger variety of videos on the market,,,,,good luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,jim
I don't think it is illegal to trade and swap videos. It would definitely be a problem if they were copied. This would get poeple in Big Trouble quick. But to me the swap and trade idea sounds feasable.
Also it would give you a chance to see if you like the video. Lets face it, some of these 30 dollar (plus a 7 to 10 dollar shipping) videos are bad, and the only way you know this is to actually buy it and view it. So after a review. you could decide to swap it out, or go buy your copy for keeping and referencing it later.

SAM,i think anyway we can help each other out is a great idea.

I always thought it was legal to copy for PERSONAL USE as long as its not a rented video or you if you don't show it or rent it out for a cost like a theater would. Sorry if I stirred things up a bit. I guess it would be better just to view them as a preview and if we like them we can buy our own and return the original copy. Please accept this as my public apology for my blatant ignorance of these regulations.
Here where I am it's not illegal to copy for personal use if you BOUGHT the video as long as you dont sell, rent out, or make a profit from it. (for example, videos wear out so you might want to make a reserve so that when it DOES wear out you dont have to buy it again.IF they still even make it.)
