Hi every one. I have been reading this web site, books and as much information as I can find on the internet about taxidermy and squirrels in particular for approximately 7 months. And I will be starting my first animal, a squirel, in the next few months. Right now he is in the freezer, bagged properly. Well my question is about aquirring the materials to mount the little bushytail. I don't know if I should buy a kit including what is needed or if I should purchase the individual items I need? I realize my first mount probably won't look that great but I want it to look as good as it can and be made with quality materials. So please help me out, shuold I buy a kit or individual items? Thank you for any addvie.

I did my first mount on a Van Dykes squirrel kit a couple years ago. it was very easy with good instructions and came with everything i needed besides the knife and squirrel. i would definately recomend a kit. good instructions, no experience required if you follow the instructions.

Unless you are planning to mount a large number of squirrels in the near future, I would get a kit. Many of the supplies you can only get in larger quantities than you will need for 1 squirrel. A kit would probably be cheaper plus the instructions are invaluable.

Kit it is!

Thank you for your input, I guess the kit is the way to go.
