When putting the wire through the birds head does it go up straight through the center skull or more towards the front portion of the skull. Duck will be sitting. Thanks

Put it in a place that balances the head best. Usually the center of the skull. But it isn't critical. You can also bondo or hot glue the wire into the head. Make a small loop and test fit. Than get yourself some artificial heads and try them.
