Stanley, save you're money, dont waste it on these. I know you are young and poor, and desprate, if you want a good air brush, save for it.

Start right now

Stanley, start mowing lawns this summer starting right now, it wont take long to save up $130 or less for a good Iwata air brush. If you ever get out of taxidermy, you can get most of the money back on a Iwata airbrush.

try this

The Iwata will be easy to use and easy to clean, and will not clog up on you. It is a top of the line tool. It is worth it! Now you asked for help, and we are telling you what kind that we think is best, and you will never have to get another airbrush. If you buy a crapy one, you will get crapy results and wish you had a better one. So skip the cheap ones.

One Brush Will Never Cut It

If you've read the archive, you know that I'm a BIG Iwata fan. But that Iwata is a detail brush ONLY. You still need a general purpose brush for heavier work. A detail brush is all you will need if you are doing only birds or heads. If fish are your thing you will need more than one brush....there is no way to sugar coat that.

It's better to learn on a double action, than to have to relearn on a double action a few years down the road. But if cost is REALLY a BIG factor, start with a Paasche H. Did I actually say that? Ideally you should buy the best brush for what you are going to use it for....that you can possibly afford.

...an easy solution to their problems. I will say this time and time again that pratice and more practice is far more important than which air brush you choose. I myself only use a Single action Paasche with a number 3 tip to paint all of my fish. If I want finer detail the artists brushes come out. Cecil I believe uses the same set-up as well. And the Master Taxidermist whom I studied under also uses the same set-up - with only a number 3 tip. And I will say that his work is up there with the best of the fish guys and gals out there. If you work with one tool to the point of mastering it you can do most anything with a decent quality, reliable air brush. Practice, practice and more practice is the key...
