put the new glues and accelerators to the test on a couple of coyotes that i mounted - had major cut right below eye (3/4" long) - was going to sew and then i thot what about that new glue i bot at world show - laid flat per insturctions and closed gap and glued and sprayed accelerator on it - in 15 seconds it was repaired - held up skin side out and i couldn't see where repair was - had another skin that had dried when i got it and made a bunch (12-15) of cuts in it turning it - oatched every one - this stuff is great - get some and try it

I started using superglue back in 1970. It was a brand new product the military had that we used on jets and I "borrowed" a tube for taxidermy. It worked just as you describe, but I watched that repair for about 25 years. I'd repaired an ear of my 170 class whitetail and it began to crystallize. Eventually it became brittle and began to disintegrate. I remounted the animal about 5 years ago because the ear had literally fallen apart. Cyanoacrylate is the still "super glue". Bill Yox and I have both seen the same results. Just keep an eye on it and let us know if our experiences were just anomalies instead of a symptom.
Is that straight superglue or the techbond? Saw the demonstration at the world show and the gentleman said the techbond stays flexible, unlike superglue. He never mentioned long term effects.
But this is straight cyanoacrylate.
glued repair to hide with hidepaste - can't move
