I just finished doing a European mount of a whitetail buck I shot last year (1st attempt at taxidermy). What do I use to hang it to the wall?
I was going to use some picture frame brackets and hang it on a nail, but am afraid that it might fall that way. What is a more secure way to do it?
Thanks for any help.

and then hang the plaque on the wall.
you can make a pedestal type wall plaque or order one from almost any of the catalogs. they are easy to make if you have a scroll saw, some 1 X 12 lumber (about 2 feet of it) a drill and some misc screws etc.
making your own is easy, and in many cases cheaper, if you have the tools needed. Plus, you get the sizes you want for that custom look.
to mount the skull to the plaque, you can drill the bottom of the skull into the brain cavity and then use a toggle bolt that is through the plaque and into the skull. be careful not to over tighten, or you can damage the skull.
anyway, I hope this helps.

I put a nail in the wall and hang it by the hole where the brain stem was previously attached.
I already have it on a plaque, I was just wondering how to attach the plaque to the wall. I don't think a regular picture frame holder is sure enough. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I misunderstood how far along you had gotten in the process.
if hanging on the wall is questionable, I just use a heavy duty picture hanging bracket on the plaque and then either use a toggle bolt on the wall to distribute the weight OR locate a stud.
