Just getting ready to purchase Krowtann for my first tanning escapade, and was wondering if I need anything to go with it, such as pickling sulpplies or somekind of softener (like krowoil)?
thanks in advance

If you are tanning the hide for a wall hanger, you will need the KrowOil. Otherwise, all you need is Krowtan and water...no salt, no pickle, no pH paper....
You will need salt but it is mixed in with the Krowtan and water. It is not put onto the skin to dry it our.
Need baking soda to neutralize the hide after the tanning process and liquid tide to wash the hide in afterwords. Another hint is to mix the amount of salt required into the water real good before adding the Krowtann. And after you add the hide to the mix place a milk jug filled with plain water on top of the hide as a weight to keep the hide submerged in the tan. Reposition the hide a couple of times a day to make sure the Tan reaches every part of the hide and if your tanning a lifesize hide split the tail or run a wick of braided yarn compleatly through the tail to draw the tan into the tail. Follow the instructions and I'm sure you will be happy with the results.
i know they advertise no oil
but
ive found at least from my personal experience
that the krowoil will give you a little more forgiveness
when mounting up
it will also reduce strinkage when cape dries
i put a little on outside of the epidermis of the eye, nose, and lips also
call ozark woods for info if you need to real good folks over there

I was wondering if not neutralized, can you reuse krowtan?
