I would like to know if i can rehydrate the clay on my deer shoulder mount to change it from alert position to ears back position the mount has been dry for a couple of weeks?

What did you use for these ears? Bondo or liners? If you used ear liners I don't think you will be able to change them to a back position because most alert earliners have the ear butts molded so that they are meant for a forward position only.
with alittle elbow grease you can still do it .1st,cut your incision and try to rehydrate from inside,next digout clay,then cut off earbutt.rehyrate below,about 1",rebuild with critter clay work inside ob butt daily untill dry,then finish to your specs! good luck
