I would like to know what size of compressor is needed to operate a mini flesher.I have a 3 or 5 gallon now but it dies out really fast so i'm looking at one at wallmart its a 5hp--15gallon tank.
Would this be the one.
Thanks Kim..

YOu may as well get a 30/40 gallon tank

And a 5h.p. motor. Those things are really pneumatic cut-off tools and the turbines use a lot of air to keep efficient. Even with that setup, you're going to find your compressor will run continuously while you're using the tool.

With that amount of hp, I would think the tank would be bigger, like 20 or 30 gal. But in any case it will do the trick, but I'd try to get a bigger tank only so the motor doesn't run as much. Check Sears or TSC, they always have a good supply of compressors. Sears sometimes has refurbished ones that they sell much cheaper... good luck.

Get a quiet one...

eveytime my Sears upright turns on it just about sends me through the roof. If they won't plug it in for you keep looking until you find a place that will.

Sell it and buy a table flesher

I agree with EJ. For the money you would have in a compressor big enough to really handle the mini flesher, you could buy a small table flesher. I was having the same trouble and finally bought a Dakota IV. Although it may not be quite as good as a more expensive model, it's still a whole lot better than the mini, and as far as I'm concerned it was a better investment that a new compressor.
