Has anyone tried to use a large gamefish mounting kit from Van Dykes or the kit and mannikan from WASCO? How easy was it and how well did it turn out? I almost seems like the kit doesn't contain enough material for a proper job. thanks

Just beginning? And you want top-notch high quality material to learn on? Kits are basic enough to learn on, but will not produce a competition quality product, unless you have some experience. With any kit, it is like a new parent bringing home a new baby; you won't know what to do with it. Kits will teach you how to research and dig for solutions. For the beginner, kits are puzzles. Don't expect much for outcome with your first mount, but expect to learn allot, for that is what the kits are for. I started on a deer kit, it taught me lots. Just getting through it was a test.
