Polytranspar Flattener

I have previously used Wildlife Colors Gloss Flattener to flatten my paints when doing waterfowl. It worked great with Hydromist, Wildlife Colors, and Polytranspar. However, I recently ordered some Polytranspar Gloss Flattener. It is a powder. When I mix it with water-based Polytranspar paint, it seems to not mix well. And when I paint with it once I get it mixed, as the paint dries, it gets these little bumps all in it. It looks like dust underneath the paint. How can I fix this. Is there something I'm missing. It's frustrating... I painted a pintail bill 4 times and it still has those little bumps in the finish. Can anyone help? Thanks.

my experience with the flattener

I use this product at times. I add the flattener to the gloss not the paint. I would paint as usual but brush on a finish coat of gloss with the flattener added. a little goes a long way--It will take it from a satin look to a completely flat finish.

Thanks Gary

I will give it a try. I was under the impression that it could be mixed in the paint.
