Brian, I have had good luck with Preservsit- comes with instructions for various preservation methods. Dilutes with water for antlers so is not expensive. Enjoy, Aaron H.

Are the antlers completely hardened? If so you can tan the velvet with Rittels products. I have done it and I know it works. If they are not hardened to the end you can inject them with preservz it like Aaron suggested and tan them.

Yes the antlers are hard, they have been in the freezer since sepember of 2004. I dont think i could inject them because the velvet is tight to the horn. Is Rittels a soaking tan. Thanks Brian

Yes

Rittels EZ 100 is a soaking tan. He also makes the Preservz It. No need to pickle. I did this on set of Axis antlers three years ago and they still look great. I followed the tanning instructions. The very best way if you have the money is to have them freeze dried but if you are part timer like me, your budget won't allow it unless the customer pays for it.
