I did a deer with lutan f and then oiled it. When it was done it lost hair about the size of a small baseball. It was on the fore head at eye level. It was like the tissue sepeated and lost the hair and outer skin.Under was in good shape. What caused this?

The first thing that comes to mind is how long did you neutralize the skin? 20 minutes max. but no longer or you will have this problem. The hide could have been questionable from the get go but I am assuming that it hadn't slipped through the pickling stage, which tells me it happened when you neutralized it. I had the same problem when I started out and Bruce Rittel nailed the problem for me.
