A flesher has a round blade and it spins like a circular saw. Except that instead of a blade with teeth it has a smooth sharp edge and the sharp edge is at a 90 degree angle. Near the blades edge are guards that are adjustable to keep only the edge of the blade exposed. You run the skin side of your hide sideways to the blade and it shaves skin off of your hide..
