weasel mounting

Submitted by chuck on 8/4/05 at 9:46 PM. ( )

I have a weasel hide that has been skinned, fleshed, salted and tanned. I split the nose and lips to the best of my ability. Do I need to do anything with the eye lids? Also what is normally done with the ears? Do people actually put in liners or bondo? Thanks. Chuck

It's tough to split the eyelids and not a lot is gained by it,on an animal this small. Some probably card the ears and call it good, but I prefer to open them and put a small amount of all game or other putty in and shape them.Just take your time turning them.Thin insect pins are nice for pinning facial details.
