those of you that used to have an auto tanner but dont anymore - why did you quit using it

sit around more than it was used. I only used mine mostly for small mammals. Never really used it for deer very much. I got tired of the leather side of hides turning red. It seemed to work but I just ended up liking the old bucket/container full of a formic/saftee acid pickle. The strange thing to me was the hides would always turn but the fur never would? Just seemed that the fur would be the first thing to absorb the color. LOL Dan
