if you can afford one get a good one
i bought a dakota pro last year
that thing shaves like a dream
the guards are easy to adjust so you can shave a nats rear end
or bigger critter

now the old one i had to use a hammer to adjust the blades just right

others will chime in with there prefered brands and there are many good ones

just dont wast money an a cheap one because if you stay with this a while you will end up getting a better one anyway down the road

good hunting paul e

Do some research and get the best you can afford. I prefer the Eager Beaver. They are just tough to get. They are made after you order them. So its normally about six weeks. I think it was well worth the wait. I have used the friendly flesher, Dakota IV, and Quebec. I like mine the best. Talk to lots of people get many opinions. Ask why they like what they do and see what animals they do the most of. Then pick the best you can. That was the advise I got several years ago. I paid $1400, which is more than what I wanted to spend. I'm happy someone gave me that advise though. I will never need to buy anough machine.

This professional model is the absolute best looking fleshing/shaving machine on the market. I own a Rawhide Fur Dresser and I love it, but it can't come close to that new machine. That one machine is going to dominate the fur trade in years to come. The stainless, bronze, and aluminum castings are superb and the adjustments are without parallel.

Rawhide me too
