Rehydrate. Then pull out catalogs for referencing their cats. Start measuring. Don't strecth the cat really long, it is generally more accurate when you stretch the cats girth. Just remember to pull out your catalogs and start to see what your measurements are producing.

Thanks for your swift responce, any special attension or tips needed around the head area or is it likely just to revert to size ?
The body girth does seem mighty slender (but long), so I can see point there, do I stretch the legs width/girth too ?
V embarrassed but learning thanks !

The basic ones

Your biggest concern will be girth and length. With the cat flat on his back push the belly skin to the sides, you'll probably notice the overall length shorten a bit. Tough to explain, but no matter what measurements you get you'll more than likely have to alter for size. Measurements at this point or any point for that matter are to get you in the ball park. All in all strecthing your girth rather than length will give you better measurements.
Did you pull out some books? How does your cat measure up to what's available?

always seem to require alot of altering so be prepared. Justin is correct about streching it for girth and start comparing to what the supply compaines offer unless you plan on major alteration. The cat should match up to what they are offering and go from there. If you run into a specific problem you can always email me and I will try to help. Good luck...Mark Natures-reflection.com

Sorry to ask again chaps, any special stretching required on the face to get a acurate 'nose to eye' dimension ? again the face seems small against the ones in the catalog !

Alter

Just don't over stretch the face and fool yourself that it is bigger than what it actually is. You'll probably have to alter the head and making forms smaller, especially the head, is a real stinker. I would suggest a change out head or maybe even the head from a shoulder form. Seeing that you haven't rehydrated yet your measurements may change a bit (larger).
