I recieved a lovely white fox pelt as a gift, but the face and ears are scrunched up. The friend who gave it to me said I could "just mist it and reshape it" but I'm not sure what he meant, and I'm afraid I'll damage it. Can anyone give me advice on how to reshape the face and ears?

First off, start with the nose, use Apoxie Clay to Dress up the nose holes,(Make em the same shape,) then put some on the top and around the front tip to give it the new `Fresh´look,. then wet,and smooth out the clay so it blends in to the fur, wse water and a rag to wipr up X-tra clay, then take 60.grt sand papier (used) works good, tear off a sm, strip, then dab it a bit ( lightly ! ) for detail, last use your finger to smooth it out a bit, let dry, then spray a bit of clear coat, while clear is still wet, take 1000 grt. wet sand papier, rub the papier togher so that the grit falls off on the nose even , spray black, last coat of clear, bingo ! new lookin nose !

You have to rehydrate the head skin first, but BE WARNED, many tanned hanging hides will suffer from alum tanning/acid rot/poor neutralizing/ WHATEVER and simply fall to pieces when rehydrated. ESPECIALLY FOX. If it survives, then you can fill the head area with paper towels to "shape it" if you'd like, but if you're going any farther than that, you need to see a taxidermist and don't expect miracles. This is a hanging hide, remember, and it may disintegrate on him. IF if does, don't go blaming him. You were warned.
Yes , could be jumpin the gun a bit, just had a talk with my tanner, maybe he can e-mail me to get some more info on the cape, Please describe (scrunged-Up) for me, and what about the ears, what shape are they in ? On ears, I take some moist cotton (with a bit of instant tan on it, then in about 30-40 min, tops, look at It again, if the thing don't fall apart then, I'd say,. take some card board ,cut it out to look like ear liners,on both sides, and then use papier clips,(big)and then try to re-bend and shape em a bit.finish up with a hair dryer,SLOWLY ! not too hot... What do you think George ? Buck,..
Thank you all for your responses!
The fur is a drape for historical recreation. The nose is curled and "pugged" a little, and slightly off center. The ears are folded down about halfway, and flattened against the neck. One of the eye holes is puckered as well.
