I have killed a very large elk and have a problem . The antler on his right side (main beam)had been broken from fighting. My hunt was right in the middle of the rut. I need to know how to reconstruct the antlers so they look as natural as possible, can you help?

Did one last year, elk had one complete side broken off just above the left burr about 6 inches. I found another set of antlers very similar to the damaged set. Made a mold of the left side main beam. Made a mold of the upper end of the orginial set right side and a the corresponding missing point. Using the mold of the main beam off the second rack I attached the mold to the damage antler and poured the cast. Then using the molds from each of the right antler's point I attached each one. Painted and the work was complete. Customer paid me $450.00 nice job.

You can drill out and place a rod or a heavy guage wire and epoxy it in place. Then rebuild 95% with sculpt-all or bondo. From there use Epo-Grips Seam and Putty repair.
The color is one of the closet to natural antler color. Next I would then stain the area with Potassium Permaganate and use steel wool on it. The match if done properly will be almost invisable.
