Ear liners

Has anyone used the ear liner method described in front of Research Mannikins catalog? The one where you soak the liner in laquer thinner and then dip it into saw dust or corn cob dust. It is supposed to give you better adhesion with whatever adhesive you use.

Thanks in advance

Matt that was an interim fix

Before the epoxy generation, no glue would adhere to plastic earliners. This method softened the plastic and "glued" the grit on allowing "tooth" for any adhesive to hold it. Primitive at best but still better than the old stapling cards in the ears or cutting holes through the liners. Epo-Grip Liquid Fast Set started the generation of epoxies and the rest, as they say, is history.

Smooth on has been around for a very long time and many used it to glue earliners. In fact, if you nuke it (i.e. microwave)you can have a liquid medium set epoxy.
