sealing long horns

I did a set of steer horn mounts for a guy. He hung the horns out side to the weather. The work I did held up fine. But the horns are starting to peel. He wants to know if I can seal them some how to stop them for peeling. Does any one know if I might be able to use fiberglass resin on them or may be some thing else. Any help would be great. Thank you.

You could seal them but

that would give the horns a plastic look to it which I don't think is what the guy wants. You could seal them with semi gloss modge podge too that would prevent the gloss. Thing is, as long as those horns are subjected to the elements outside, they will continue to deteriorate no matter how good you seal them. The rain and direct heat from the sun will wear off the best seal in time. The customer needs to keep them out of the rain and out of direct sunlight if he wants them to last, that is just common sense.
