Hey, what do you think aboout the pheasant mounting "package" Van Dydes offers for $39.00? Is it really for the beginner and is it something I can do? How hard is a pheasant to mount. To date I have done no taxidermy other than a turkey fan and a european buck mount.
Thanks everyone!

Where else can you learn the basics on mounting a pheasant and pulling you're hair out for $39? It is a good way to get started. If you can plow through to the end, you will learn allot. Don't worry what the bird will look like; all first mounts will give you a satisfaction of accomplishment IF you finish it. You're tenth bird will look better than the first, and you will look back and laugh. But the first will be tough sledding because you are starting out from scratch. Keep in mind that you are learning and that the bird may not be a ribbon winner when you are done. It is a puzzle when you get the kit, and you will find that the pieces will not go together by them selves. You will have to make them fit, this is called taxidermy. At the end when you are through, you will be glad that you learned something on your own.
