?#1 So I read you folks preach about getting all the fat off the birds. While fleshing the crop area of a turkey I found that if I take off most of the fat the feathers are hanging on by nothing. I'm kinda afraid to see what the wash is gonna bring. Shouldn't a guy leave some fat around the breast feathers to hold them in? These are not pin feathers.
?#2 Is a TK42 a OK form for a gobbleing on the roost mount?

#1 You MUST remove ALL of the fat and meat on a bird. Fat WILL rot and cause problems. It will cause the bird to stink and attract insects. The feather quills are attached to the skin and the skin will hold them on. If you'd like, you can even use caulk to lock the feather quills in. I use it, but its not absolutely necessary.
#2 Does a TK42 fit your bird? If it does, then you can use it. I don't have my McKenzie catalog with me, but I'm sure that is a strut form. If it is, it will give you the expanded breast more consistent with a "gobble strut" pose. If you don't want the bird's chest poked out, use a walking/standing type form which will not have the expanded breast.
