My mother has a moose mount my father killed and had mounted a minimum of 30 years ago. My mother gave the mount to my brother to hang in his house, however, he wanted it remounted. After discovering what it would cost to buy a hide, tan it, and mount it he decided he wasn't ready to mount it yet. Now the kicker. My mother said she would pay for the supplies to mount the moose antlers on a plaque for him for Christmas and he thinks thats a great idea.
Is the mount worth saving like it is or should I just suck up the sentiment and cut the horns off? Hair has started falling out but still currently looks Ok.
Thanks, John

if the mount still looks ok and he has plenty of room to hang the mount (moose take up alot of room) I would leave it alone until it is unbearable to look at.
