I am fleshing a cape that I thawed last night. This is my first ever. I immediately used stoprot all over. The cape is slippery hard to handle. I am going to use krowtann to tan it after i get it fleshed. I have some DP here but I am afraid to put it on the hide for a better grip because I dont want to mess up the krowtann. What can I use? Cornmeal or flour then wash it good? Help! I am greener than this cape . First attempt Please help. I have already cut myself 3 times. Thanks in advance

don't panic.
Probably by the time you are reading this the slimy membrane of the cape would/should have firmed up for easier handling and shaving.
Just leave your cape's flesh side exposed to the air. Sounds like you may have used more STOP-ROT than needed, but regardless, just leave it exposed to the air.
On another note, DO NOT use dry preservatives on any thing that will be going into an acid pickle!
place salt on the cape for a hour or so this will help give you some traction. As far as krowtann, remove large areas of flesh and throw it in the tan. After a three or so days remove neturalize and final flesh.
swampfoot look at your directions closely and follow them exactly
youll notice it tels you to change position of the cape daily
so
take it out the pickle move it around letting the water drain out for a few seconds
make sure all the cape gets dunked
whatch for little folds in the skin
also look in the archives on the stop rot and krowtann plenty of stuff in there
p.s. try another round of stop rot before neutralising
put some especially on the eyes, mouth, and nose
i also suggest using the krowoil youll have a easier time stretching that cape back to size
hope you get the taxidermy bug its highly catching
once you get a good dose youll never be the same
good hunting paul e
