I would like to know if there's any company that deals in reproduction raptor feathers for anyone who wants to try mounting a repro bird.
I figured obtaining real feathers is downright Illegal in every way. But is there a permit or something of which you MIGHT be able to obtain them? CITES tags or similar?
I have a friend in Poland that is a falconer, and owns a Kestrel, who doesn't lose feathers often, but has. So, probably illegal for those too.
Please clarify anything!

It is illegal to possess raptor feathers, legs, or any part of them without a federal permit. When you work on them, they must be returned to the government agency that presented them or to certified schools, libraries, and museums.
To make reproduction raptors, you have to use non-protected species feathers, i.e. goose, turkey, chicken or the like. That's why the reproductions seldom look as good as the real thing.
