I was just curious if it was possible to free antlers from a skull and how. Not just by cutting them off, but making them kinda fall off, like when they shed. Thanks.

Until they begin the shedding process, the antler (even though Bill Yox gives me grief over this) is actually bone and forms an integral part of the skull. If a buck is hit hard enough, the antler will actually tear part of the skull cap away before it snaps many times.
Thanks for the info.
I have seen deer hit the ground hard when a rope hoist breaks and land hard on there face and have the antler snap off at the base of the skull. The only way to get them off the pedicle is to cut them. Or if you are real good, you can use a chisel and sort of "pop" them off. Joe
But if you are wanting that shedded antler look, just cut them below the burr and roughen that end up to look like a shed.. I have done that before for habitats when I wanted a shed in it.
