..and one of the best ways to find out these ways is to check out your question with the search button. There are almost 200 entries when you type in turkey fan mount in the search. Check that area out, see which method catches your fancy. You find that the reference archives hold a tremendous amount of information, much of which is repeated. That is the best place to start and if my memory hasnt completely failed me, you may find a couple sets of instructions there. Though searching the archives is a little time consuming, you may find out that you gain more info from seeing where others have posted their mistakes and questions. If the archives fail you, you may want to ask George nicely and he may provide you with an idea or two. He has a nice recipe for one I got a year or so back, but have since misplaced.
Best of luck!
Mac

taxidermy is a labor of love. Above all else the bottom line is that it is labor. But the labor is lessened by the enjoyment and satisfaction of the final product. As in all jobs there are some areas that are easier to learn and master than others. How much drive do you have? In my opinion, taxidermy is an all or nothing endeavor, because your final product reflects the effort that you put in. As always there are exceptions to the rule, but you will find many here in the forum that bust their butts at what they do, but would do nothing else in the world. I am into it because it is another artistic avenue for me. It is the challenge of bringing these animals "back to life" and getting a response from those who view the mount that is my inspiration. Learn all you can, throw as many questions as you can think of in the Search of the archives, make notes of what you find, don't be afriad to jump in and make mistakes. It is a fascinating industry, some call it art, some call it craft, but I think of it as both. Whatever you do, give it 100% and you will be 100% more satisfied with the results.
Have a great Holiday
