Im a beginner and i like to do fish taxidermy. I bought the books on how to airbrush the fish and how to finish the fish. I taxidermy the fish best to my beginners ability and always mess up on painting the fish. I have looked at the stencils for bluegill( fish I like to taxidermy) and I don't know if I should buy them. They don't cost too much but will they really help me in painting the fish in the long run or will I just have to suffer in practicing airbrushing the bluegill. Do you have any suggestions on how I can make myself airbrush the fish better.

I don't like the way stencils look. I am not happy with the way my bar patterns on any fish look just yet and don't know if I will ever be. With each fish I paint I get better and have started using charcoal pencils and other things to give me what I see in the fish I paint. The most Important Thing is to not give up and it will come sooner then you think. I have only done three bluegill's but I have painted them all twice and plan on getting them back at Christmas from my dad to paint them at least once more. I will tell you that if you go to the stencils you wont be happy until you get it done free hand, and if you use them and spray to hard you will end up with unnatural lines. I used a stencil on the first smallie I painted and will never use one again.
