just got in a couple capes today and the legs were not split on the deer so there is about 8 inches of round leg cape and i'm not sure on how to split that. I dont want to do it wrong and screw up the whole cape. I dont know if u guys know what i am talking about but i hope so

it along the hair line on the back of the leg but don't cut through the arm pit, then go straight back with your cut.
You split down the back of the leg where your white tuff (hair) meets.
If they are, it sounds like you may end up in a pinch. The reason I say that is, it sounds like you need to do a lot more research if you are asking questions like that. That is something that is pretty general. Have been seeing people taking in work when they should be doing more research. The 1st thing you doon't want to do is start off with taking a chance on screwing up someone's mount. Of course maybe you are just trying to learn how to cape out deer. If so then good for you for practicing on extra hides. Dan
