Buying Forms

I have read on here before about buying a form that is smaller than your cape.I can understand the thinking in this,but i have a simple ?
What in what areas on the form would you reduce your measurement? Just the neck I would think...thanks for the help!

also your nose to eye

Always go smaller, never bigger. the nose to eye can also be reduced to some extent.

1/2 inch? 1 inch... is there a standard to go by?

You don't need to go smaller. Buy the form that fits closest. If the form is exact as your measurements then buy that form! If one form goes a hair larger than your measurements and the next form goes a hair smaller then go with the smaller one. Again, buy the form that fits closest.
