A kitchen fork to rough up the form, a butter knife to tuck lips, cool whip bowels, a brush and comb out of the bathroom. Make a fleshing beam out of whatever wood is in the garage. A toothbrush, wires brush from the toolbox, any knife that is sharp, her sewing thread and needles for small jobs. A ruler, tape measure, pliers, scissors and what ever you can find in the house. The supply companies have specialty tools that are made for certain applications and after a while, you will end up with one of everything out of the supply book. The schools will have all the tools you need. Many tools you will find at home out of necessity on the spot when you are in the middle of a job. As far as a kit goes, you will have to buy what you need as you go. There a re different tools for fish that you would never use on deer, and so on.
see the orange button labeled search. Type in "Beginners supplies". That question has been asked alot. Scalpel, scissors (spelling?), needles, threads, taxidermy scissors (still doesn't look right),knifes. If you are going to school they should supply you with a list of other essentials. Best of luck. Where you going?
Paul and Greg thanks for the info . For the school it will be Bill Allen's Pocono Institute of Taxidermy. And also I will be working with one of the local Taxidermist that lives by me . He said he will help me as I go to school.
