Depending where your from and how serious you are about this trade will depend on weather they will help or not. Pa has a high number that gas tried to go through this and I do knw folks that were turned down because of the number of taxidermists.
Also it has been noted that thise that have gone through this system has failed and closed their business within 3 years due to lack of work or not getting enough work in to cover their own bills.
I know cause I also had help through them and got the nineth degree on it and had some major proving that I was going to stay with the business.
I'm just giving you a heads up on this but it worked out fine for me and I'm still going on strong but you can see a major decrease in game head work. In the Northeast they did a major survey on how the deer is coming in. The outlook for all is down from 10 to 25%. Very few stood close to the same numbers from last year.
So if you are going to pursue this trade have yourself a well writen business paper and how your going to get into this business and stay in it. You will need a five year plan for this.
Also what ever OVR buys you they own it not you! Good Luck!
Frank thanks for the info . I live in the Northeast and I hunt and I have seen a big drop in the deer so I could just imagine how it effects the local taxidermists (don't mind the spelling)For the business part of it do they help you with this paper or is it all up to me. And if it is up to me where do I get some helpful info? Thanks again Frank
They don't do paper work so it's up to you. What you can try is small business association. They can guide you and help set things up but you still have to do a lot of paper work to get any thing going.
Marc, leave you email address and I will tell you what I had to do when I went through OVR and also make a few suggestions ....James
