skull whiteness and lights?

I've read where some people use artificial lights to help whiten skulls. How much of this whitening is due to the actual light, and how much is due to the fact that the heat from the light is drying the skull better then air drying? Thanks for any and all replies.Rancid

I think the light has a lot to do with it especially when you surround it with white paper to reflect light back into the skull. If you have access to an OTT light, which is suppose to give off the full spectrum of light, almost like the sun, that would be the best. I blew my OTT light (which did a great job) and now I use a clear halogen lights which also do a good job.

thanks
