My sister has two pheasants in her freezer and she wants to make dream catchers with the feathers but isn't sure on a safe way of removing them without damaging their high quality. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can do this, I am going home next Tues and hope to have a great answer for her, if you could respond, please send it to my email address. Your help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Take a scalpel or very sharp knife and slice right along the tail feathers at the base of the quills. You are cutting into the fat/meat of the tail. You'll be exposing the base of the quills as you cut along side of them. With the quill base exposed you can just tip the feathers out one at a time. You can also make relief cuts on the inside of each feather to aid the process. good luck
