got a problem with a whitetail hide. Got it tanned, I just oiled it but it still have a problem with it being real stiff. I shaved it down alittle too. Do I need to shave it more, oil more or tumble more. Some tips please. Thanks for your time as always.

sounds like you had pickle too acidic. Or maybe it wasnt neutralized good enough. Try letting it sit in some baking soda water with some downy in it-might help.
Did you salt and dry it out hard? If so did you rehudrate it completly.If you do not get it relaxed completely, it will not be soft after the pickle or tan. If I salt, I only leave it on for about an hour then rehydrate it for about 30 min and go into the pickle or freeze untill ready to pickle. I uasually soak a hard salted skin over nite in Rittles ultrs soft. Hope this helps. Randall
The hide is already tanned. I let it dry hard(stupid). I rehydrated it for a few hours, then oiled. Still seems like it will dry hard. Going to try some of the things above. I used Krotann, no pickle, and followed directions to the tee! Folks... may be to late for this bogger!LOL
