Customer asked if there is any problems with placing his mount over an aquarium? Will this harm the mount at all?

If it falls in the tank it will.

Other wise I don't think you should have any problems. I have 3 mounts over fish tanks and have had them there for years. Joe

i personally wouldn't

in my freshwater tanks i add some salt, as the water evaporates i always have a salt buildup on the covers and filters, i would think as the years go by that deer head hanging over the fish tank would get rather dirty but if joe hasn't had any problems then i can't see why it would hurt

Not the best place but

I don't think the evaporation rate of the tank is going to be soo great as to affect the deer mount. If the tank has a cover on it this should even minimize this effect. I wouldn't be too worry about it.

I also have

mounts hanging above aquariums. I've one about 16" above a salt water tank for 9 or 10 years (the tank is covered). Salt creep every place else, but not on the deer - yet. They are my mounts so I figure if there is ever a problem, I can fix it. HOWEVER, I do not recommend it to customers, I always tell them they are taking a chance if they do so.

If the deer head is DPed

The small dust particals can kill the fish. Dp will remove oxegen in the water. That is the only thing I can think of that may happen.
I have a badger skin rug and a ruff grouse over mine. They do not have any damage, but the grouse's tail used to be fanned more. it has slowly started to fold up. I am going to cut it off and redo it with some bondo and put it back. it should stay then. I think the little amount of moisture is causing it. The other grouse I have in other parts have not done that.
A deer head I would think would not be harmed, unless like someone already said, Falls into it.

I wouldn't

worked in a aquarium store for years, not pretty what it can do over the years. I wouldn't take the chance.
