Why is it, that when someone posts on a post, that it doesn't jump to the top? I've always like that feature on other forums.
Just curious..

Take a look at the WASCO Supply sight,You have to type in every bit of detail to order something. Did that ONCE!
And I agree with you that indeed is a nice feature. Some sites even ship you an email when a topic you've been following has a reply to it. Which is even nicer. But from a K.I.S.S. standpoint, I agree - the jump to the top feature is much cooler than the current format. I'm just not sure how hard something like that would be to implement. It certainly would change the 2 dat/three day deal along with implications on archives. But, my vote would be all for it. It's way more efficient...
I know, drives me nuts
You know guys, there's always the alternative. OH! you mean there IS no alternative? Hmmmmmm. You know, if you just sign on and click RECENT, you can cover EVERYTHING in the last 3 days. After three days, both news and bread are too old for consumption.
That's what I do. But, you still have to check every topic whether somebody has replied or not. It IS kind of a pain in the doopah. Call it bitchin if you want. But if a better mousetrap can be designed should we just keep using the old one because that's all there is? Isn't improving upon things what this website is all about?
Being able to state one's opinion about EVERYTHING (including this website and WASCO) is what makes this website SO valid. I hate the way on some websites "moderators" start pulling posts because they're too touchy or whatever. When this happens to a website that is when I exit stage left because now it's all about advertisement and money and many of the real answers are lost in politics. There are many good things about this website, but like anything, there could be improvements. I suspect that changing the format is probably a pretty big job. And that MAY be the main reason to not change things. Having the topic bump to the topic is clearly a "nicety" that I'm all for IF it's not that difficult to implement. I deal with it because it IS all there is. But, I also don't bother checking many topics a second or third time simply because of time constraints. The aforementioned recommended change would alleviate this problem in my opinion...
I kinda wish, you boys would call and tell me when someone post something new or better, just tell me what was said or even better yet ,Ken could stop by once a week ,in his spar time and do my work.
For me i'm happy we have this site ;i have no life without it hehe.
