tried my first hog skull and learned a lot on what not to do ,since now I have it soaking in dawn after I cleaned it for three weeks in water. It still seems to hold grease areas I just pulled all the teeth I could and cleaned inside them but can't seem to get all the back molars out to clean them ,so I put it back in the dawn and new clean water to soak again ,skull seems to have a yellow tint to it which I guess is do to the grease in the skull. ? is can I save it! like I said I pulled the tusk on the top out and the tusk on the bottom jaw seem to not want to come out all the way ,I have pulled with plyers until I am afraid I will break them ,So any help would be appreciated . I want to get it cleaned so I can try a asphaltum color to it and do designs on the skull plate

are worse than bears when it comes to grease, I think the only thing I've seen that was harder to clean was a babboon skull. Keep soaking and changing out the water and dawn, try and keep the temp of the water at about 80 degrees and that will help also. The last hog skull I did took almost 8 weeks to get all the grease out and it looked fine after that, just remember to change the water once it starts to turn color as that is the grease coming out.

the teeth, if they don't come out they don't come out, it's not a big deal.
