Coon Help

I skinned and fleshed a coon and need to know what to do with the tail. I removed it with the pliers trick, pulling the tail bone out. Was fleshing and it hit me what about the inside of the tail? Do I cut it down the middle or try to turn inside out? Am going to do a full body mount. Help!

It'll be fine if you do that.

a wire, sharpen it to a point, and poke it through the end of the tail. then I use the wire to work some salt down the tail. I think this helps the moisture to drain out of the tail.

JH, 'coon are too greasy to leave the tail un-fleshed. Split it along the bottom all the way to the tip then remove the membrane, blood vessels and fat. Glenn
