potter's clay or critter clay

What is the best kind of clay to use for the building deer eyelids? I have been using dry potter's clay but hear critter clay shrinks less. I would appreciate some advice on the best product.

I use Potter's clay with out any problems. I have used critter clay and can't really tell much difference in the two.

And I know you've seen it, you just ignored it and used epoxy clay to cover it.
Potter's clay has a shrinkage problem that usually manifests itself with gaps around the eyes and eye's lifting more than when they were mounted. Potter clay is "organic".

Critter Clay is advertised as an "inorganic" clay and thus not susceptible to such shrinkage. It also tends to work so much better when sculpting fine details such as eyelids and eyebrows.

george hit the nail right on the head. I really see a difference in detailed work like he said. As for shrinkage that i guess goes with how well you use the type of clay i personally use them both as to the area i use potters clay to fill bigger areas such as ear butts or neck fill. I also think you get better detail with critter clay.
