I have a friend in Rochester New York. His email is Mboehley@hotmail.com His name is Mike. He may have a location for you to get to. If not I know he could sell you a fox squirrel cheaper than the gas to fetch one. Good Luck Have fun

He is in the Woods this weekend so a response may be slower than usual

I have been hunting fox squirrels for forty years. Best time is in fall when they are cutting. On a nice sunny, quite day you can hear them across the woods. For your first time I suggest 12ga #6 shot. I use a 30 cal. muzzleloader. Makes life interesting. Creep into the woods and sit down. Be quiet & don't move around. If you see nothing in 20 min-move to another location silently. When you sit gently clack the brass from two emty shotgun shells together. It drives them nuts. Just do it infrequently. Their eyesight is exceptional. When you see one only move on him when he is busy. If he sees you first, you will probably never see him again. Aim for the vitals. The hide is thick. If not dead, don't touch it. They bite! Go early b4 light or around 2 pm. till dark. Many receipes, very good eating. If you are a good shot, use a .22. Only one hole to worry about. Have a good hunt. Be careful.
