I attempted to flesh and turn lips on my racoon last night but can't seem to get the lower lip in the front turned. It seems to be very thin there. Any ideas? All of the rest turned out great.

Same with other carnivores. That edge is very fine at that point. Just clean all you can from both sides and when you tuck it, concern yourself more with tucking the sides properly. Keep up with it for a day or two and when the hide glue locks the sides down, the front won't move anyplace.
There is hardly any skin there to turn. I just end up putting super glue on the front of the lower lip and gluing it to the form. Sometimes I put a couple small pins in to hold it while it dries.
I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
...it doesnt tuck in. Dont forget to reference the animal youre mounting. The front lower lip just fuses to the gum line there. The top lip, and nose, overhangs the bottom jaw there. Just glue the bottom, and tuck the top and make sure it overhangs. On open mouths, just glue it.
For the additional information. Those hides sure are greasy!
