Degreasing Skulls with Acetone

Has anyone tried acetone to degrease skulls (bear)? I've been reading up and it seems like this is a common way to do it. I just wondered if anyone here has tried it and how long you let them soak. As always, a great forum and a great wealth of good information. Thanks for any response.

Young bears may degrease in a few days.Real greasy older ones may take 2 weeks or more.Remember it's flammable and treat it as such.I keep my covered bucket in a steel utility shed away from the house.

Tim, acetone is NOT a degreaser

Do yourself a world of good and click on the SEARCH icon in the left margin. Type in "degreasing skulls". Acetone CAN be used as a SOLVENT initially or later on, but SOAP is the only degreaser that's effective for that purpose. The use of both products is spelled out quite well in there.
