I just mounted up a mule deer using a commercialy tanned cape and during the drying I noticed that the hair laid funny on the neck. After a little investigation I noticed that it was in a spot were I repard a hole before mounting. What seemed to happen is that the cut was made by the tannery while shaving the cape and the hairs were cut off. Now there is a gap in the hair lines. I should have cut out the bad spot when I fixed the cut, but im new to this and did not notice it. Any ideas on how to fix this? thank you in advance for all of your time and help Adam

Remount it. You can also try and rehydrate the area, pull it off just enough to trim it and thne sew it up on the head. It may not work ifthe skin is really tight.
