Bent ear

Submitted by Semperfi on 2/11/06 at 4:38 PM. ( )

I have a mount that is about 10 yr old that is of a Colorado muley. My dad killed it and after mounting put it into his attic for some reason. One of the ears is somehow bent about half way up. Is there a way to fix this without remounting?

You might try

wrapping the ear with a wet towel for a day or so then forcing the ear back into shape, then card it with something stiff and let it dry in place. Depending on what method the ear was mounted with this could work. Got my doubts but it wont hurt to try before actually having it remounted.

I believe he used earliners purchased from WASCO. I will try that and hopefully it will work. Thanks
