I've read some books that say you don't need a fleshing tool to flesh. They say that a smooth butter knife or a spoon will do the job. Im working on a cased otter (my first) and it doesn't seem to work. Should I invest in a fleshing tool?

20.00 at a local gander mountain and they are worth a million bucks. I remember my first bear i did and i didnt have a fleshing knife.....after that nightmare i owned a fleshing knife and never have looked back
