I have 2 questions about painting. First Ive found that when Im painting with my paashe airbrush that I keep getting spatter coming out of the brush, Ive tried turning the psi up and down and still get it. Am I not mixing the paint good enough or whats up here? Im using the water basd paint if that is any difference. Also I have some deer feet for gun racks. Do I have to paint the hooves on them or what. The one pair is pretty scratched up and rough looking I didnt know if I should paint them to make them look a little better. Thanks for any help, Kevin

Put a water trap in your hose or on your compressor. I never paint above 35 psi.
And No, you don't need to paint the hooves. Wipe them with Vaseline if you want to do anything to them.
on the deer hooves...heres the deal! if the hooves are in bad shape and need some dressing. take the edge of a sharp bladed knife and scrape them. now..i dont mean cut them. i mean place the edge aginst the hoof at the hairline. drag the blade towrd the point of the hoof taking a small amount of hoof off at a time till it is even and smooth. dont paint or clearcoat at all. you can rub some vasoline or other petrolium product on them but, remember it will collect dust. quick! i have used nose and hoof and it works fine. then just feather dust them once in a while. no fuss no mess! jim
...the paint is drying on the tip. Try thinning your paint a bit with rubbing alcohol and add in a few drops of retarder and I'll bet it goes away. Fyi, I haven't drained my moisture trap or opened the valve on my compressor in I don't know how long. But then again, I don't have drastic humidity problems that some of you may have. Waterbased paints with a little water in the line' usually isn't a problem. Just my opinion...
